Tips to Prevent Falls

Remove clutter, electrical cords in walkways, loose rugsArrange furniture so that there is plenty of clearance for walkingWipe up spills immediatelyMake sure areas are well lit – especially on stairs and outdoorsConsider installing railings on both sides of stairsMake often used items more accessible so a stool or ladder is not neededLook for loose flooring and have it repaired or replacedIdentify uneven surfaces and have them repaired or replacedDuring cold weather, remove ice from the walkways as soon as possible
